Tuesday, October 15, 2013 Rochester, NY - Local teacher educator and activist Liz Hallmark thinks democracy is missing from the Common Core, the state's new K-12 curriculum standards. Education Department Commissioner John King and the state PTA scheduled town meetings upstate to advocate for King's plan, but when parents in Poughkeepsie didn't fall in line, the PTA cancelled the rest of the meetings.
